Our most recent certifications in sustainability reflect IIL’s long-time commitment to environmental responsibility. In order to meet the requirements for certification IIL had to first meet complex, rigid standards which the certifying bodies have written.
IIL currently holds two certifications. We are certified in accordance with the Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC®) Chain of Custody Standard which ensures that forest products (in our case, paper) can be traced from their final manufactured product all the way back to the well-managed forests from which the raw materials were harvested.
We also hold certification with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) Chain-of-Custody Standard which displays our commitment to sourcing our paper products in a responsible manner. We have supply chain management systems and documentation in place to ensure that our paper continues to be sourced from sustainable vendors, and we have clear labeling systems in place to indicate such.
These two certifications show that IIL met the requirements, as a matter of practice, to protect the “Chain of Custody” (CoC) of forest products. The CoC’s purpose is to assure the certifying body’s ability to trace materials used by IIL all the way back to the original trees from which our paper was originally made. This provides the certifying body’s with the ability to make certain that the company originally harvesting the trees are carrying out sustainable practices with respect to their business.
Our clients can be certain that IIL, as certified and occasionally audited, is not irresponsibly consuming the resources of the earth. We run our business and provide our products and services to our clients while minimizing our footprint on the planet.
Furthermore, as an integral part of these certifications, all aspects of our business operations must be sustainable. These include, but are not limited to, our human resource practices. Our hiring and treatment of employees must meet certain standards. Human resources are the most critical factor of any company’s ability to sustain itself. By virtue of these certifications our clients can be assured that by partnering with IIL for their vendor of choice they have selected a company they can depend upon, year in and year out.
Aside from the most “state of the art” equipment available today, IIL’s most valuable attribute is the extraordinary flexibility we provide to our clients. Developers are notorious for last minute changes. These changes can be a nightmare for Heads of Training who have very clear deadlines to meet. IIL has been in the training business for over 20 years, providing the latest concepts in training to its clients. We are uniquely qualified and experienced in responding to these last minute changes and to get the job done for our clients.
We understand the small quantity requirements of Heads of Training. They only want what they need for a classroom of people and do not want to have to pay for and receive hundreds or even thousands of books. Because of this, IIL Printing is completely equipped, and our people’s “know how” allows our company to provide last minute services, as a matter of routine.
Our company has always understood that conventional commercial printer rules were antiquated with respect to “Just in Time” concepts, and therefore, inherently were favoring the commercial printer rather than favoring the client. IIL has always understood the dynamics of bodies of knowledge and how those dynamics require continual updating of materials in order to remain current.
IIL’s many global clients often ask very demanding things of us in the course of the provision of training within their organizations. Our performance in fulfilling such demands created much interest in offering these printing services to all of our clients and to the general public as well.
The quality, flexibility, freedom, and dependability that we offer has taken our clients totally by surprise and they love it!
