Jody Harrell of Woodward – FULL INTERVIEW:
What elements were you focusing on when seeking an organization to help in your printing needs?Woodward was specifically looking for high quality printing services for the manuals used in our internal training programs. It was important to find a company that could print on short notice and ship internationally when necessary. It was also important to find a company that could handle a high volume of printing and have the last manual printed look as good as the first. Similarly, it was important that we work with a company that was flexible. The decision to call IIL was the best decision we ever made.
What was it that made you ultimately choose IIL Printing?
When I initially spoke with Michael Borges, I was impressed with the fact that he actually asked me what we were looking for rather than just telling me what IIL had to offer. His willingness to provide multiple printed samples of our manual was so helpful. We thought we wanted one type of book and ended up going with something else once we saw the manual in different bindings. Michael made helpful suggestions during the process and was very accommodating.
Can you tell me what values or benefits you saw from IIL that other organizations failed to display?
IIL was actually the only printing company we talked to. We like them so much from the very beginning we didn’t even bother calling anyone else.
In what capacity will you be using IIL Printing?
IIL will be printing all the participant manuals for our internal training programs (about seventy programs per year), as well as handouts and case studies used in these programs. We will soon be deploying a program that will be delivered to approximately 5,000 company members and we will be using IIL to print the manuals for that program as well.

Can you help us understand the ROI that IIL Printing has created for your organization and people?
I don’t even know where to begin with this one! I was previously printing and comb-binding these manuals myself for every program, which could take almost an entire day. When you deliver seventy programs per year, that’s a lot of time spent printing and comb-binding! Also, when programs are being delivered at different company locations (both domestically and internationally), I had to ship the manuals.
The time savings alone is worth the cost of the printing and shipping. The manuals look so much more professional and we really feel good about the product we’re putting out for the program attendees. Michael Borges and Melina Africa have been so easy to work with!
I can’t say enough about the level of customer support and service provided by Mike. He checks in regularly and helps keep me on track if he hasn’t heard from me and knows we might have something coming up. It’s like having an extended member of our team at IIL. Melina always confirms the order before she puts it in line for printing and if there are ever any questions, she asks before proceeding. It’s really been a pleasure working with IIL. I look forward to our continued relationship!
